One Taler 1596 - Luegentaler (Lie Taler). TRIVMPHAT, flying angel over the lion tearing apart an ibex, 1-5-9-6 over the angel. Walking wild man holding lit candle with helmeted arms aside, Legend around - HENRI. This is so-called "Luegentaler" or Lie Taler of Duke Heinrich Julius of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel.

The coin is a representation of Satirical Thalers which were minted by Duke to put pressure to some Noble Families who were nor agree with a Duke politics. In this particular coin the Duke (the Lion) is tearing apart an ibex (Noble Family of Steinberg) as well as a rose (Stockheim Family) with an Angel as a God Blessing above Him. The reverse of the coin reflects the Wild Man with a candle (Harz Symbol) And a coat of arms. There is no way you can find this type of taler in MS-certified state - we are offering one, Top Population and the only one graded as MS by NGC. Coin was possible dipped but slightly retoned. Weak strike but you can see uncirculated details. Great collectible and investment item!
